Where is the Gold?

If you have played any form of real-time strategy games (i.e., Warcraft), you will definitely come across the in-game virtual currency (i.e., Gold) that funds the economy of the virtual game. Heck, even Pokemon Go! has its own currency called ‘Coins’. No matter what are the names of the in-game currency, they serve the same purpose. It ensures your continuity in the game. Without it, you might lose the game.  You need to harvest and collect the currency to build buildings, improve army stats, build an army, and etc. Eventually, you have the upper hand in terms of the in-game currency to win the game.

It is somewhat similar to the real-world scenario. The only difference is that we have to harvest our “gold” using a different method. In a virtual game, we build miners to harvest “gold”. In the real world, we offer our service and product in exchange for a fee or favor. The more “value” we can provide in terms of services or products, the more we can command. Without the consistent exchange of service and fees, our economy would break. Just like the in-game, we might lose easily if we are running out of the chances to harvest gold.

Since there are not many real gold mines in our world, we have to resort to the type of service and product that we can provide in order to harvest our “Gold”.

EARTH: You should focus on creativity, innovation and out-of-box solutions this year. Share your creative problem-solving ideas with your clients and turn them into valuable money-making assets. Helping your clients to solve their business issues is the key to this year.

METAL: Your focus is on networking this year. You can either connect with your existing clients or expand your reach to the next circle of people. Tell them what’s in your mind and you may have the opportunity to collaborate and make a new stream of income.

WATER: Review the feedback from your clients this year. Find out their intrinsic needs. Look out for what is really important and make haste action to address them. Your clients’ feedback and information are highly important. Look for an informant that can lend you a helping hand. Provide an added value for your upgraded version.

WOOD: You should check out whether there is an opportunity to provide after-sales services. Call your existing clients and review the past work that you have done. Find out if there are any added services and values that you could provide. Check if there is any dissatisfactory from the clients related to your services and goods. 

FIRE: Selling essentials is the key this year. Convert your services/products to essential goods. Position your goods so that it becomes essential to your clients. Provide bang for the bucks products that address the pain. Healing the wound and stopping the bleeding is the most important step right now.
